Hey Guys!
Just wanted to pop in with a skin care review with a very popular brand The Ordinary. I will admit I’m about 2 years late but I recently purchased a couple of products and wanted to discuss about it and how it has been beneficial to my daily skin routine.
So for starters I wanted to go over my daily skin routine from start to finish and pinpoint where I use these great products during the process.
Face cleanser
I’m sure you guys have heard of Dr.Bonner one time or another since it is sold at major stores such as Target, Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, etc…. Well this stuff down right works (for me at least). Along the years I have learned that Tea Tree is a great anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial product that helps reduce and prevent acne with fast-acting results. I normally wash my face with this once a day specifically at night and my face feels so soft and cleansed.
This soap is also a 18-1 so you can use it for multiple things such as hand soap, dish washing soap, bath soap and so much more!
It’s made with all Organic oils including Organic Coconut oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, and of course Tea Tree Extract.
2. Spot Treatment
Now I would be completely lying if I told you this stuff didn’t smell bad but.. then again would it really work? Now this I feel has been my Mojo for my skin when it comes to any type of acne emergency. Have a pimple and want to get rid of it within a day or two? Tea Tree is your best friend.
This is 100% Tea Tree oil that is sold at Trade Joe’s and it’s a must have for my skincare remedy for the simple fact that well.. IT WORKS.
For this I normally do it last once I have cleansed and moisturized and I only place it directly on the affected areas, no where else (this is a pretty strong oil so a little does go a long way). I leave it on over night and wake up with instant results.
3. Toner
Introducing the first product by The Ordinary
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%.
To explain this in a less complicated term it is a High- strength Vitamin and Mineral Blemish formula that contains Vitamin B3 which is an anti-acne remedy.
This little bottle of magic can help improve enlarged pores, targets hyperpigmentation, and also acts like an anti-inflammatory agent which is perfect for ance prone skin.
I normally apply this after cleansing my face since it is a very light-weight formula that works best on bare skin and I do not apply after a heavy moisturizer. I apply this once in the morning and once at night.
4. Moisturizer
Introducing the 2nd product by The Ordinary
100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
The only ingredient in this bottle is Rose Hip Seed Oil.
Since this formula is filled with vitamins, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids it mostly helps with acne scarring (what I use it mostly for), dark circles and anti-age properties.
With having such large amounts of Vitamin A and Vitamin C it stimulates collagen production and the more collagen your body produces the less likely you are going to get wrinkles. NO WRINKLES YAY.
Since this is an oil it is more heavy and needs to be massaged into the skin. I normally apply this after wash, toner and then this and I only apply this specifically at night before I go to bed.
5. Face Mask
Introducing the 3rd product by The Ordinary
AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
Now I got a little scared when I used this product for the first time simply because it looks like blood but I promise you it’s not that.
This little guy is a 10 minute (and I mean EXACTLY 10 minutes and no longer then that) exfoliating facial that contains a high percentage of Alpha hydroxyl acids that exfoliates the top layer of the skin for brighter and radiate skin. The 2% of Beta Hydroxyl acid extends deeper to help flight pore congestion. Together like Bonnie and Clyde this formula helps improve appearance of skin texture, help reduce irritation, and deeply exfoliates.
This is an intense face mask and only needs to be used once a week during your daily skin care routine. I like to do it after I wash my face.
